Discount codes
Partners → Discounts → Create code. Pick a percentage off or a fixed amount off, one event or all your events, and optionally a limit on uses and when it starts and ends. The summary shows what the code will be as you fill it in.
Codes are letters, numbers and hyphens, 2 to 32 characters, and buyers can type them in any case. Each code applies to every tier on the event, and a buyer can use one code per order.
What it comes out of
Your share. The discount comes off the ticket price, and KOLA's service fee, card processing and tax are all worked out on what's left. A fixed amount comes off once per order, not per ticket.
Sharing it
Copy link, in a code's ⋯ menu or on its page, gives you a link to the event with the code already applied, so buyers don't have to type it. It's there while the code works: not before it starts, or once it's ended, used up or turned off.
Buyers who type it wrong, or after it's expired, used up or switched off, are told it isn't valid for the event. Too many wrong guesses on one event and code entry pauses for a while.
A limit on uses holds: each buyer checking out with the code holds one use for up to 35 minutes, so a code for 20 is never used 21 times. If the last uses are held by people still checking out, the next buyer is told "This code has been used up." when they press Buy, even if your list still says it's active.
Limits, switching off and deleting
A use is counted when an order is paid, once per order. A refund doesn't give the use back.
Turn off, in the code's ⋯ menu, stops it working without losing its numbers. Deleting it also stops it, but past orders lose their link to the code in your reports.
Duplicate starts a new code with the same discount, event and limit, under a new name.
Renaming a code that's been used stops the old name working.
