Tickets
Where are my tickets?
In your account, under Your tickets. Nothing to print and no PDF to lose — each admission carries its own QR code and the door scans it straight off your phone.
I bought tickets but nothing arrived.
Check the account you bought with — tickets live there rather than in an email attachment. If the order still says pending after a minute, the payment went through and issuing was held up on our side; email support@kola.fm with your order reference and we'll sort it.
Can I give my ticket to somebody else?
Yes, in two taps. Open the ticket, send it, and it moves to them — your copy stops working the moment it does, so an old screenshot won't get anybody in. If they've never used KOLA the email signs them in, with no password to invent.
Somebody sent me a ticket. What do I do?
Tap the button in the email. It signs you in and the ticket is waiting — you'll be asked for a name and a password once, and that's it.
The event is sold out. Will more tickets appear?
Sometimes. Refunds and returned tickets go back on sale automatically, so a sold-out page is worth checking again — particularly in the last week, when plans change.
Refunds and changes
The event was cancelled. Do I get my money back?
Yes, in full and automatically — ticket price, our service fee, processing and tax. You don't need to ask. It goes back to the card you paid with and banks usually take five to ten business days to show it.
I can't go any more. Can I get a refund?
That's the organizer's decision and it varies by event. The event page says which before you pay: refunds available up to a set number of days before the show, or all sales final. Where they're allowed, use Request a refund on your order and the organizer approves or declines it. Where they aren't, or once the deadline has passed, you can still send the ticket to somebody else, which costs nothing.
The date or venue changed.
Your ticket stays valid for the event as changed, and we'll email you when something moves. Whether a change entitles you to a refund is up to the organizer — ask them, or ask us and we'll ask them.
Does KOLA keep its fee on a refund?
No. Refund a ticket and our 3% goes back with it. We don't keep a fee on a sale that unwound.
At the door
What do I need to bring?
Your phone, with the ticket open. Bring ID if the event has an age limit — that's enforced by the venue, not by us.
My phone died / there's no signal.
Talk to the door. They can look you up on the guest list by name, which works whether or not your phone does.
Can two people use one ticket?
No. Each ticket admits one person once, and a scanned code won't scan again. If you bought several, swipe between them in your wallet — each has its own code.
For organizers
What does KOLA charge?
3% of the ticket price, plus card processing at cost — 2.9% and 30¢, which is what Stripe charges us and exactly what we pass on. Both are charged to the buyer and shown as their own lines at checkout. No listing fee, no monthly minimum, no per-ticket surcharge, and the 3% comes back if you refund somebody.
When do I get paid?
Sales are charged directly to your own Stripe account, so the money is never held by KOLA. Payouts to your bank are released rather than automatic — refunds come out of that same balance, so emptying it before the night would mean refunds failing if the show were cancelled. Your payments tab shows what's available, what's still held and when the rest clears.
How do I start selling?
Apply to sell on KOLA. You don't need an account first: we review applications within 48 hours, and if you're approved the email signs you straight in.
Can I set my own refund policy?
Yes, per event. Allow refunds up to a set number of days before the show, or say all sales are final. Whichever you choose is on the event page before anybody pays. Once tickets have sold you can be more generous than you promised but not less.
Can my door staff see my sales?
No, unless you want them to. A door staff account opens the scanner and the guest list for that event — no orders, no payouts, no other events.
