Buying tickets
Pick your tickets on the event page and press Get tickets. You need a KOLA account to check out — if you're not signed in, you're asked to, and your selection is kept, with any promo code or presale password.
Each ticket type has a limit per order, set by the organizer. The + button stops when you reach it.
Before you pay you see the subtotal, any discount, Taxes & fees and the total. Tap Taxes & fees to see what's in it: our service fee, sales tax if there is any, and card processing. Free tickets skip payment altogether.
Promo codes
Once you've picked tickets, a Promo code box appears. Type it and press Apply — capitals don't matter. One code per order.
If an organizer shared a link with the code in it, it is applied when you open the page.
"That code isn't valid for this event" covers a mistyped code, an expired or used-up one, and a code for somebody else's show. The organizer who gave it to you can tell you which. If a code has only a few uses and other people are checking out with the last of them, you may see "This code has been used up." when you press Buy. If they don't finish, it can work again a little later.
Presale passwords
Some tickets are locked until you type a password, in the Presale box on the event page. Press Unlock and they appear. The organizer decides who gets the password, and we can't share it. An unlock lasts until you reload the page, so unlock again if you've been away. Signing in at checkout keeps it.
Tickets are held for 10 minutes while you pay
Pressing Continue holds your tickets for 10 minutes while you're on the payment page, with a countdown at the top. If somebody else already holds the last ones, you're told then, before you pay.
If the time runs out, or you leave the page, they go back on sale and you start again.
A waitlist offer is held for 15 minutes from its email instead.
If payment doesn't go through
The reason shows on the payment page and you can try again there. If you left before paying, nothing was charged — go back to the event and start again.
An unfinished checkout shows in Order history as Pending, and after a couple of hours Abandoned. That doesn't mean you were charged. If you were, you saw You're going., got an email with your order reference, and your tickets are under My account → Tickets.
Tickets sold on another site
Some events are listed on KOLA but sold elsewhere, like Resident Advisor. Their ticket box says so and links you there; the sale, refunds and tickets are all handled by that site.
