KOLA vs Shotgun
Looking for a Shotgun alternative?
Both are built for electronic music. KOLA publishes its fee and runs your door in any phone's browser, with no app for your staff to install.
Fees
Our fee is 5%. At a Shotgun checkout, the service fee came to 13.5%.
KOLA
- Service fee
- 5%
- Card processing
- At cost: 2.9% + 30¢ in Canada and the US
- A $10 ticket, all in
- $11.12
Shotgun
- Service fee
- 13.5%
- Card processing
- Not shown separately
- A $10 ticket, all in

On KOLA the fan pays the fee and card processing at checkout, shown before they pay as Taxes & fees, with each amount a tap away, so neither comes out of your ticket price. No setup or monthly cost to you. Totals are before any sales tax.
Shotgun doesn't publish its rate, and fans see “your price + Shotgun fees”. 13.5% is what a Shotgun checkout charged in October 2026: $1.35 on a $10 ticket.
